Be Fearless

chicago blogger, randolph street, pylo bell bottoms, ppla clothing, russsian hat, fur hat

I saw a woman wearing this hat in the middle of summer in a vintage shop. She stood tall in the doorway, draped in gauzy fabrics, dripping with silver and turquoise jewels. Her blonde hair was tangled in perfect waves and her matte red lips, unforgiving.

Damn, I thought to myself. That woman is fearless. She held herself in the way that poised women do: completely serene with unwavering confidence. With one look she could capture you, or crush you. I projected onto her all of my ideas and suspicions of who she was and what she stood for. In her, I saw a glorified version of myself.

So here I am wearing my Russian fur hat inspired by that shining summer starlet. In it, I am completely fearless. I carry with me the vision of that woman, and all of the power I imagined she held. Sometimes that’s all it takes, a stroke of confidence and a little imagination. Find your inspiration, your vision, your muse. Find it in another, or better yet find it in yourself. Be confident, be you. Be fearless.

Until next time, xx.
