After much research (stalking my fav fashion bloggers on Instagram), and hard work (scouring the internet for something cute/affordable); I’ve finally secured my first round of fall wardrobe staples.
1. Greek Fisherman Hat: My #1 definitely goes to the Lieutenant Hat by Free People, more commonly known as the Greek Fisherman Hat. I’m all over this 70’s-inspired, grunge hat and in desperate need of a break from my beloved brixton messer. In fact, I originally went for the Brixton Fiddler, but when they were sold out of my size, this free people fisherman hat proved to be the perfect solution. It comes in a “One size fits all” which is apx 7.25”. It was a little loose on my tiny head so I added a bit of hat liner for a snug fit. 2. Skinny Scarf: This trend is classic, affordable and the perfect way to spice up any outfit. I got a black, fringe Skinny Scarf by ASOS. I went with black because… duh, and I added fringe because…why not? I truly fell in love with this trend after the Free People September Collection Catalog came in the mail. How do they manage to achieve the boho-rockstar, Penny Lane-prodigy look on EVERY SINGLE PAGE?! I’m still trying to figure that one out. It is oh-so inspiring and will definitely make you wish you had $1000 to spend at Free People— wait let’s make that $5000.
3. Suede A-Line Skirt: I finally found a Suede A-line skirt that fits and I’m using every excuse to wear it as often as I can. The suede skirt I purchased on ASOS is sold out but this one is nearly identical. This skirt is the best of both worlds and here’s why… It’s trendy enough to wear out, yet modest enough to wear to work. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Versatility is key whenever I’m spending my hard earned dough, and these fall wardrobe pieces are no exception. What are your fall wardrobe staples?
